Efforts will be made to bring Sheikh Hasina back if the court orders: Foreign Adviser

Foreign Adviser Md said that efforts will be made to bring Sheikh Hasina back from India after receiving instructions from the country's judicial department. Touhid Hossain. He said, 'If the country's law courts ask me to make arrangements to bring her (Sheikh Hasina) back, then I will try to make arrangements.'


The foreign adviser said these things in response to a question about bringing back Sheikh Hasina from India during the press briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday afternoon.


Md. Tauhid Hossain said, 'But whether India will return it is up to them. We have an agreement with them, according to which India can return it if it wants. But there is a legal process in that country too and we have to try to bring it back accordingly.'


After the cancellation of Sheikh Hasina's red passport, in response to the question as to what status she is in India, the foreign adviser said, 'Ask India about this. They can say in what status Sheikh Hasina is in India.'


When the attention of the foreign adviser was drawn to the fact that the projects run by Indian contractors in Bangladesh had stopped, he said, 'Look, it is undeniable that after any revolutionary activity, there can be some unrest (in the country). We had a little problem with law and order here too, we managed to bring it under control. Now slowly everything will become normal. They (Indians) will also come, because we have to complete the ongoing projects.'

He said, 'I think Indians are in a kind of fear. They can surely get out of this fear.

When asked whether the current government will reconsider the MoU signed with India at the last time, Tauhid Hossain said, 'The MoU is not the final agreement. So we can see whether our interests are protected here. We will do what needs to be done to protect the interests of the country.'


Asked whether the chief adviser is going to the UN General Assembly session, the foreign adviser said, 'The chief adviser is going to the UN general session; It has been decided. But he will return on a very short visit.'
